We first met Anna Beasley in January 2015 when she inquired about having a unique, custom coffee mug made for her sorority, Ko Jo Kai on the campus of Abilene Christian University in Texas. Because, of course, college students need lots of coffee to study and a coffee mug that will last final after final.
Ko Jo Kai, which is Japanese for “Little Club of Women,” was founded in November 1919. Anna was interested in something truly unique for their Spring Formal Event and knew she’d found it with a commemorative custom coffee mug hand crafted by the artisans at Grey Fox Pottery. She decided on one of the most popular coffee mug styles, the Slimline and needed a rainbow of colors for this truly special event. We agreed to make four different, stunning color combinations.
The finished mugs were given to some 300 plus attendees. Anna wrote,”Everyone Loved them,” and “Thank you so much for the mugs! They were a huge hit at our event!! People won’t stop talking about them.”
Later that fall, Anna contacted us again, this time for another batch of mugs in one of our new styles, the Bistro; in colors that matched Ko Jo Kai’s Club Colors, Brown & Beige. This was for their Homecoming and they were looking for customized keepsakes for students and alumni Ko Jo Kai.
Not resting on our laurels, our artisans crafted the new custom coffee mug with their normal attention to detail and care. Again, Anna said “Everyone loved the Mugs! Every single one of them got taken! So pleased with them.I have been so impressed with y’all’s work! I am still getting compliments about them. Thanks again.”
Anna, we thank you and your sisters at Ko Jo Kai for the opportunities to make commemorative keepsakes that students, staff and alumni of Abilene Christian University are going to cherish for years to come.
