hether you run a brewpub or an independent brewery, one thing’s for sure. Beer is your life. From malt to hops and from IPAs to stouts, you love all things about beer and you want to share that love with your customers.

Handmade, custom designed beer steins from Grey Fox Pottery help you do exactly that. Each of our beer steins is made by a skilled artist, by hand. That means no two steins are identical. It also means you’re able to offer your customers a product they won’t get anywhere else.

Our hand made stoneware tankards and beer steins set the standard. Classy, stylish and affordable, they’re ideal for mug clubs and retail sales in brew pubs and micro breweries. Let us customize your steins with your logo using our Ceramic Scrimshaw process that’s a cut above ordinary decals or screen prints on cheap blanks. Choose from funky two tone glazes or more traditional single colors from our wide selection.

All of our glazes are lead-free, food safe and microwave safe. Email us your logo or artwork and we’ll send you a digital proof.

Why Beer Steins?

Why bother to order beer steins when you can easily serve beer to customers in pint glasses or when you can sell screen printed, mass produced glasses to customers in your gift shop?

Although beer glasses have become a popular way to serve beer, beer steins have a long history. They harken back to an era when people drank their beer out of pewter or wooden tankards. Beer steins make drinking a nice pint of beer a more fun experience.

Plus, beer steins are available in a range of shapes and sizes, each of which is designed to enhance the taste and quality of a specific beer.

The pilsner stein is one example. It’s available in two styles, either a long, tall stein without a handle or a wider style that has a handle. Pilsner mugs are used to serve lighter beers. They offer two benefits over other beer mug or glass styles.

The slender size of the mug helps to keep the beer bubbly. Since the mugs are wider at the top, they help retain the foamy head of the beer for longer, which improves the flavor and scent of the beer.

We offer two pilsner styles. One is similar to a tall, slender pilsner glass and holds 16 ounces. The other has a handle and is slightly larger, holding 22 ounces.

Another shape is the potbelly. This distinct style is bulbous at the bottom of the mug, with a narrow opening. The wider base encourages beer drinkers to swirl their beverage, releasing the aromatic compounds of the beer. The chalice is well suited for beers such as Belgian ales and stouts. Our potbelly style is available in a 20 ounce size.

Grey Fox Pottery offers a wide range of beer stein styles. You’ll find the traditional beer mug, available in 20 and 24 ounce sizes. You can also order a ceramic version of a pint glass, which holds 16 ounces. Other styles include the Bavarian, the Lodge and the Pub Mug, among many more.

Hand Made in the USA

Each of the beer steins made by Grey Fox Pottery is made in the USA, by an American potter, using American-made products. Our potters made the steins by hand, so each one is slightly different from the next.

When you order beer steins for your company from us, you can rest assured that you are getting a quality product and that you are supporting an American company and that your company’s dollars are directly boosting the economy of your country.

There’s another benefit to ordering handmade beer steins. That’s knowing that you’re offering your customers a truly high quality product.

Often, mass produced pint glasses are made from a thin, easy-to-break glass. The logo is screenprinted on the glass and it chips off easily with use and washings. Ceramic beer steins are made from a sturdy, durable clay. They feature stoneware logos that won’t chip off or wear away in the wash.

Set Your Business Apart

It’s not uncommon for breweries to use beer glasses or mugs as part of a promotion. Who hasn’t gone into a bar and had a bartender offer them a free pint glass for trying out a new beer?

Let’s face it, pint glasses are a dime a dozen. Few people are going to get excited about being offered a free glass. A handmade beer stein, though, that’s a different story.

People tend to cherish things that are made with pride, love and care. And if your beer company is running a promotion that involves giving out a free handmade beer stein with purchase, either when someone orders a pint of your beer in a pub or purchases a case to take home with them, you’re going to stand out from the competition.

Beer steins also help your business stand out if you are going to use them to serve beer at a brewpub or in a restaurant. Your company doesn’t have to solely focus on beer to benefit from custom-made beer steins.

A restaurant can order a set of beer steins with a ceramic scrimshaw logo. The steins can be used to serve beer, as well as other beverages, such as root beer and soda. If you offer ice cream at your restaurant, some steins, such as the barrel or pint glass style, can be perfect for serving sundaes or ice cream floats.

Let’s not forget that handmade custom beer steins make great souvenirs. If you own a brewery with a gift shop, customers will go nuts for the chance to purchase a unique beer stein, instead of a basic logo pint glass. Resorts, museums, zoos and other tourist attractions can also sell custom made beer steins as souvenirs.

Choose Your Logo

Getting logoed products into the hands of customers is an easy way to reach them in their homes on a daily basis. It’s essentially free advertising for your company. Whenever someone uses a beer stein with your business’ logo on it, they’ll end up thinking about your company.

Logoed beer steins can also help your customers spread the word about your business to their friends and family. For example, a customer invites a friend over for a beer. He or she serves that friend a beer in your company’s beer stein. The friend is intrigued and wants to know more about your business.

Grey Fox Pottery takes logos seriously. We don’t just screenprint your company’s logo onto a beer stein. Our artists use the ceramic scrimshaw technique, a method of engraving that shows your company’s logo with amazing detail and depth.

To create an order for custom beer steins, all you need to do is send us an image of your logo or the artwork you’d like to use. We’ll create a digital proof and return it to you for review.

Your complete satisfaction is our goal, which is why we work hard to make sure you’re 100% on board with the style and design before we get to work.

Choose Your Colors

When your business orders custom handmade beer steins, you don’t only get to choose the shape, size and logo. You also can choose the color of the steins.

Grey Fox Pottery offers a wide range of custom glazes, made in house. First, you can choose whether you want your beer mugs to be a single color or a pair of colors.

Then, you choose your specific colors. If your business has specific colors (like team colors), you can easily pick those for your steins.

The large selection of colors we offer means that you can easily order a set of beer steins in a new color for a special promotion or event. For example, you can order a run of beer steins in Hunter Green and White to celebrate the winter holidays or a set of beer steins in Pink to support breast cancer awareness month.

Wholesale for Companies Large and Small

Grey Fox Pottery is a local craft business based in Minneapolis, MN. Our story begins with just two guys who started working with clay and making pots over 30 years ago. Since then, the company has grown and now features an entire team of clay artists.

Our commitment to our community, to our artists and to the companies we work with has helped us stand out over the years. We realize that some wholesale companies make it difficult for small businesses to place an order.

If you’re running a small gift shop or brew pub, you’re likely not going to need to order thousands of beer steins.

We’re committed to working with companies of all sizes, which is why we have a small minimum order limit. No matter the size of your business, our minimum order makes ordering custom merchandise possible. That’s enough beer steins to stock the bar of your brewpub or restaurant. It’s also enough to offer a special “limited edition” product in your gift shop.

Of course, your company wants more, we’ll give you more. We have the employees and the equipment needed to serve the needs of bigger companies, such as major tourist attractions, larger breweries and even renaissance festivals.

Grey Fox Pottery can help your business stand out from the rest with custom designed mugs. Offer your customers a memorable product and it’s very likely they’ll remember you.
