Cassie Gonzales, General Manager at Patrick Dugan’s coffee shop in Garden City, Kansas, where she was born and raised. Patrick Dugan’s came into her life in 2008 while she was working for a computer repair store doing secretarial work. The two owners of the computer repair store, Pat & Doug, decided to open the coffee house to fill a huge empty section that they had in their office space. The work began and before they knew it, Patrick Dugan’s Coffee House opened in May of 2008!

“I had no idea that I would still be here almost 8 years later, but coffee has become my passion over the years! As cheesy as it sounds, my favorite part of working in the coffee industry is getting the opportunity to make someone smile. Coffee is a happy thing and we have developed quite the culture out here in in Southwest Kansas!” Says Cassie.

coffee shop mugsPatrick Dugan’s is in a small town yet we know it maintains big business. When asked how they do it, she replied by saying, “as long as your provide people with a positive experience, a great product and quality customer service, people will continue to patronize your business – and that’s what we strive to do on the daily.”

Cassie began a mug club at Patrick Dugan’s which we became interested in. For anyone who is interested in the idea of mug clubs, they are apparently a huge success with both the customer and the shop. Here’s a little bit of info on how it works at Patrick Dugans:

“Our coffee house has an Irish Pub theme going on, so the idea of our mug club came to me after visiting a brewery that provided their customers with something similar. The way our mug club works is simple; Buy a Patrick Dugan's ceramic mug, bring it in with you to receive exclusive discounts (that change monthly), then have your barista wash it out! We have a hard time keeping our mugs stocked! We have even developed a "Mug Club Wait List" - but we are finding a lot of people buy the mug and just use them at home. They're unique and well built and keep our product hot!
”

Patrick Dugan’s is one unique coffee house. You’ll see a rich, warm interior with a flood of natural light that greets you upon entering. They can throw down latte art with the best of them and make some of the best coffee you’ll ever experience, but you will still get treated as a guest in their home. If you ever find yourself in Kansas, be sure to visit Patrick Dugan’s in Garden City!
